Maddy VandenHeuvel

Maddy VandenHeuvel is a full-stack software engineer with four years of professional experience. While her journey in this industry has led her to specialize in developing React web applications, she has a broad skill set that includes Node.js, React Native/mobile applications, Next.js, TypeScript, and hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform/Firebase, DevOps, and database management. With a background in the food and beverage industry and the arts, Maddy brings creativity, collaboration, and adaptability to her work. Her educational journey combines traditional college with self-taught learning, and she believes that learning is a lifelong pursuit.

Maddy finds joy in solving tricky bugs and difficult problems, and she’s not easily deterred by complexity. When working on projects, Maddy likes to think ahead, considering the entire life cycle of a product. During her time at FYC, she has had the opportunity to contribute to various projects across different industries, including e-commerce (with Shopify experience), fintech, insurance, and Web3 technologies.
